I was like a deer in head lights because i have NEVER won ANYTHING before!
Ok so my summer started off slow and hard but South Surrey Hit has totally been my saving grace, somewhere to escape and litterally beat out any stresses of the day week or month. I promised myself i would make it in there a min of 4 times a week and double up my workouts at least twice a week. With all my hard work and the staff pushing me beyond my comfort zone, one day at the end of my workout, I will never forget that moment because Yosi PUNISHED me that day, he put his hand on my shoulder and said " good job, whats your shoe size?"..."HUH?" was all that came out of my mouth. He had the biggest grin on his face when he repeated himself. I was like a deer in head lights because i have NEVER won ANYTHING before! That day i found out i won some sweet pair of Sketchers! and that day i realized that hard work and dedication will eventually pay off. Some may say its just a shoe, but its more than that to me. Thanks guys its nice to know that the hard work i put in is noticed.

Hi my name is Cherylene and I have been a member of 30 minute Hit for just over 1 year. I had been involved in fuse boxing classes prior to this but found the set time to be a restraint on my schedule. I work full time and have two teenagers and a husband so it was the flexibility that attracted me to the “Hit”. I also have a tendency to get bored taking the same classes over and over and have to say not even close to getting there with 30 minute hit. Teri, Sarah, Lisa and Wendy are always “Suggesting” ways of kicking it up a notch so I get the variety and work all the different muscle groups. On a personal note Terri has been very supportive and encouraging as I struggle with self-image. She always reminds me that it is not the scale that rules but the inches. I am definitely more toned and have improved my cardio endurance. Moving forward this year if I continue 3-4 times weekly at the hit, plus...watch my carb intake, I am sure to succeed in putting on that bathing suit when I get to Mexico in April.

It has made me a better person and the pounds are really just a bonus!
It all started in January when my husband and I decided to lose some pounds before our big trip to Jamaica. I had heard about the Hit thru a friend at work. The idea that it was only 30 minutes and that it was seconds from where I work was very appealing to me! I work a lot and sometimes the stress of retail makes it seem impossible to deal with the stress of a workout after a long day. This was my frame of mind at the time so whats better than a quick 30 minute workout that i can just pop over to after work? I had NO idea how good this place is for me! Work stress= gone! The sweat and pain that come from a good workout is what I crave! And my husband gets a wife who is a lot happier and more confident about herself! Not to mention I lost 10 pounds and 3 jean sizes by the time Jamaica came around! I really love going to see Bob and Kate almost everyday! And I am thriving at work because I can handle the stress so much better! It has made me a better person and the pounds are really just a bonus! Everytime you lie in bed and think to yourself "im too tired" or you finish another long day at work and think "not today, ill go tomorrow".... JUST MAKE YOURSELF GO! A quick 30 minutes later you will feel like you can handle anything that comes your way!

I feel stronger, and confident with the fact that I have gained some training in self defense.
Since joining “30 Minute Hit” I’ve never felt better! I am almost into my fourth month and I have noticed a huge difference in the way I feel and the way I look. I’ve started to enjoy getting dressed in the morning because my clothes are fitting me properly. My self-esteem has grown immensely. I feel stronger, and confident with the fact that I have gained some training in self defense. Being that its only 30 minutes and I can bring my son with me it fits into my busy schedule perfectly. I actually, for once, look forward to working out. “30 Minute Hit” helps me de-stress after work and seriously completes my day. Thanks Todd, Jen and Cyd!!

When I first joined 30 Minute Hit I joined on a monthly basis because I really didn't think that I would keep going , well this month will be my 1 year anniversary and I still love it as much as I did on the first day. Not only have I lost over 30 lbs but my stamina and strength on the ice has improved 100%. Asked why I love "The Hit" so much, I always reply the people are wonderful and the work out is incredible and I can be in and out in well under 1 hour......thanks for everything!

Hit continues to challenge me physically and mentally.
I started the 30 Minute Hit over a year ago when I was looking to start an exercise routine. After high school graduation, I made it a goal to live a healthier lifestyle by exercising more. Previous to 30 Minute Hit I went to the “gym” like many other people out there and occasionally attended drop in classes at the local community centre. I never found anything that motivated me, which only made exercising a chore. Thankfully my sister, Sara, introduced to me 30 Minute Hit and it changed my life. After my first introductory class with Tak I was hooked. Part of why I love coming to Hit is enduring the craziness that Tak and Mikey make me go through. They are awesome trainers that are always there to push, correct and advise. Furthermore, there has never been a time when I came in and they weren’t there to greet me and the others with a big smile followed by, “How hard today?” Secondly, 30 Minute Hit has taught me that hard work really pays off. Hit continues to challenge me physically and mentally. I realized when I am able to overcome my thoughts mentally I am able to push through physically. Because of Hit, exercising has become a part of my life and something that I look forward to. 30 Minute Hit is now a part of my lifestyle and I am so glad that it is. The trainers are awesome and the community here is incredibly encouraging. I never leave this place without breaking a sweat and trying to catch my breath in between stations. That is the feeling that I love each and every time!

I never thought I would be one of those people that got upset when I couldn't work out. Thanks to Yossi, Laura and the kickboxing team I can say I am now one of those people. I've been with 30 Minute Hit South Surrey for a year now, a and I've seen amazing results. I've gone from a size 16 to a size 9 and still going down. The circuit is short and it targets areas I never even knew existed. I enjoy learning different moves and exercises so that I am challenging myself every time I work out. I've taken everything from aerobics classes to spinning classes to weight training and I can say hands down kickboxing is the best work out I've ever had. The results are amazing and so is the team that works there : ) Its even better than having a personal trainer! Recently I've been working at doing the circuit twice a day and it pays off in record speed! I recommend kickboxing to anyone that wants a full body work out in literally 30 minutes. Thanks again to Yossi, Laura and the rest of the kickboxing team for making kickboxing such a great experience!

That burning sensation is the best feeling because I know I have had a great workout, and that I am going to be ok!
My name is Safana and I have been a 30 Minute Hit member for almost 2 years. I started out in Vancouver and switched over to the Burnaby location when it first opened, and have been here ever since. When people ask me where I workout, I excitedly tell them ‘30 Minute Hit’. 30 Minute Hit is what I call my “happy medium.” I get a full body workout – cardio, abs, toning and strengthening all in 30 minutes! I can’t believe how quickly the workout is done! I have tried a kickboxing boot camp as well as been a member of a gym for many years. I found boot camp too extreme for me - my knees couldn’t handle it. And at the gym, I found I was on my own with no feedback, no motivation and no one to encourage me when I was tired and ready to give up! When I enter the Burnaby 30 Minute Hit, I am greeted by name and with a smile. I feel as if I have my very own personal trainer! I have someone there at all times to help correct my posture and technique so that I get the most out of my workout. There are days when I am close to finishing and I feel like I just can’t make it through the last 30 seconds but then I hear Teri, Wendy or Sarah calling out “you can do it,” “keep going,” “you’re almost done.” Those few words of encouragement go a very long way and make a huge difference. Initially, when I first started I could barely breathe after completing the circuit, and now, even though I am still out of breath, I am doing so much more than I ever imagined my knees and body could handle. With guidance and training from Teri, Wendy and Sarah, I have become stronger and can now do push-ups, (not women’s style, but men’s push-ups) dips, lunges, squats, the plank and burpees! I even try and do the extra ab workout that Teri has added after the completion of the circuit. What I love best is that Teri always finds ways to adapt a workout if it is too strenuous on my knee but yet ensures that I am challenged and having fun. There are days where I feel a burning sensation in most of my major muscles! I can’t sit or stand without feeling pain! But the very next day, I am back and ready to do it all over again. That burning sensation is the best feeling because I know I have had a great workout, and that I am going to be ok! I continue to challenge myself and embrace what Teri has taught me and look forward to what’s next at the Burnaby 30 Minute Hit! Thank You Teri, Wendy and Sarah for your on-going support, encouragement and for not letting me give up!

The workouts are empowering, challenging and adjustable to keep me interested and focused.
I’ve always been interested in kickboxing but was a little intimidated by the predominantly male gyms offering kickboxing in my area. I was super excited when I heard about ladies only - 30 Minute Hit! I have been hooked since December- It's the first time I truly enjoy working out! The atmosphere is friendly, non-judgmental and everyone is very supportive of each other. I love the fact that I can PUNCH, KICK and HIT my way to achieving my personal fitness goals. The workouts are empowering, challenging and adjustable to keep me interested and focused. Many thanks to Kate for being there and consistently encouraging me to push my limit- You rock! Bob is also such a lucky guy…. All us women get to hit on him!

I've noticed a change in how I look and more importantly how awesome I feel!
What does every girl want? I mean really, what's the one thing that burns in your mind every morning, at noon, in the evening, and occasionally at night (if your one of those midnight snackers ;) ): To be able to eat whatever, whenever, and as much as you want without gaining an ounce! Unless your blessed with super metabolism and killer genetics chances are you were like me; counting every single calorie consumed and feeling guilty if you had 10 calories or more than you usually do a day. Or staring at the scale every morning praying that last night dinner didn't push you over by that 0.5 lbs that you've been holding on to desperately, and then re-checking your weight several times, because who knows the scale could have broken overnight, right? Guilt was what was killing me and guilt was why I joined 30 minute hit. I was tired of feeling guilty for eating! I've always been a "smaller" girl but I couldn't run 5 minutes straight if my life depended on it. I couldn't even keep up with my 3 year old son, yes I was skinny but I was out of shape! Oh and being "smaller" doesn't automatically mean your in shape, no matter what anyone says. Since joining 30 minute hit back in March I've noticed a huge difference! With Christine and TK's expertise and encouragement I've noticed a change in how I look and more importantly how awesome I feel! My arms are toned, my stomach feels tight, my legs are in shape, and the best part of it all I feel like I can KICK ASS!I can run longer than 5 minutes, I can throw a punch like no body's business and I can kick without falling over now! Instead of walking into a gym intimidated having no clue what half the machines are and what they do and more importantly "Am I even doing this right? Or do I look like a complete idiot?" 30 minute hit isn't your everyday gym, the members are great the trainers actually train and keep an eye on you everytime you do a circuit. Long story short 30 minute hit is AWESOME and I love coming here :)
